I’m Sarah Maynard and I set up Wild & Precious Minds to share my passion for mindfulness and help other people experience the life-changing potential for this approach.
I first became interested in mindfulness when I first started working in mental health around 15 years ago. I was fascinated with the area and eventually followed mindfulness back into its Buddhist roots. The area resonated strongly with me and both Buddhism and mindfulness are now an important part of my everyday life. Since completing Mindfulness Teacher Training with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice (CMRP, Bangor University) I have been involved in running mindfulness groups within NHS settings in my work as a Clinical Psychologist. I am a listed teacher on the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teachers, a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Psychologist, and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS). I am now delighted I get to offer these courses to the general public as well. I’ve experienced the transformational effects of mindfulness in my own life and it’s so exciting and rewarding to see others start on the same journey.
I find it so exciting to share mindfulness in as many different settings as possible as it’s so versatile. As well as running 8 week courses I offer one-to-one mindfulness sessions, courses and workshops for workplaces and mindfulness for parents and young people.
